What is the Mentorloop app?

The Mentorloop app is a professional mentoring platform that enables people to connect with mentors and mentees, track their mentoring journey, and access support and resources throughout a structured mentoring program. It is designed for workplace, university, and community-based mentoring programs run by organisations.

The iOS and Android apps are companion apps to the Mentorloop web platform. They do not function as standalone social networks or public communities.

Who uses the Mentorloop app, and how?

Mentorloop is a B2B SaaS platform. End users, or participants, access the app only when they have been enrolled in a mentoring program by an organisation (the "Program Coordinator"). Typical program types include:

  • Workplace mentoring programs run by employers
  • Alumni and student mentoring programs run by universities
  • Professional development programs run by industry associations and membership bodies

Participants fall into two roles:

  • Mentors - typically experienced professionals who volunteer to support others
  • Mentees - individuals seeking guidance, career development, or skill-building support

All participants are invited to join a program by their organisation. There is no ability to discover or contact participants outside your own program, and no anonymous access.

How is access managed?

Access to Mentorloop is controlled at multiple levels:

  • Invitation only - participants must be explicitly enrolled in a program by a Program Coordinator before they can access the app. There is no self-registration open to the general public.
  • Organisational oversight - every program is managed by a designated coordinator within the organisation. They control who is enrolled, how matching occurs, and what communications are enabled.
  • Authentication - participants authenticate via email and password, Google or LinkedIn social sign-on, or via their organisation's identity provider (SSO). Mentorloop supports SAML 2.0 and OIDC-based SSO for enterprise customers.
  • Program-scoped visibility - participants can only see and interact with other participants within their own program. There is no cross-program visibility.

What content can users share in Mentorloop?

Mentorloop allows participants to share content as part of their mentoring relationship and program engagement. This includes:

  • Messaging - direct messages between matched mentor and mentee pairs. Messages are private to the pair and are not visible to other participants.
  • Meeting notes and goals - participants can record notes, action items, and goals within their mentoring loop. These are private to the pair.
  • Profile information - participants create a profile that is visible to other participants within the same program. Profiles include professional information such as job title, areas of expertise, and mentoring goals.
  • Program-wide resources and updates - Program Coordinators may share resources and updates visible to all participants in a program.

Content shared within Mentorloop is scoped to the program. It is not publicly accessible, indexed by search engines, or visible to people outside the program.

Is the Mentorloop App suitable for all ages?

The Mentorloop app is designed for use by adults in professional and educational contexts. It is not intended for, or marketed to, children.

Minimum age: Organisations enrolling participants in programs are responsible for ensuring their participants meet any relevant age requirements.

Content: The app does not contain or facilitate violent, explicit, or adult content. All user-generated content is subject to Mentorloop Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy. Program Coordinators have access to oversight tools to monitor program health and flag concerns.

No public social features: The app does not include public feeds, open communities, anonymous messaging, or any feature that would allow unsolicited contact between strangers.

Data and privacy: Mentorloop collects only the personal information necessary to operate a mentoring program. User data is handled in accordance with the Mentorloop Privacy Policy. Mentorloop is GDPR compliant and supports data residency requirements for enterprise customers.
