Manual Matching

As the program coordinator, you have full control over the matching process with matches being driven by you! Manual matching gives you the ability to find information about your participants and manually match them together within the Loops page.

How to create loops?

Creating Loops

  1. Creating Loops is easy, simply head to the Loops page on your left side bar and click Create and select the type of loop.
    Loop types

    • Loop - Two person discussion between a mentee and mentor.

    • Group loop - Discussion between multiple people this can contain as many mentors/mentees as you see fit.

A Loop is the connection between a mentoring match where they can begin their discussion and continue to communicate.

  2. The default view is set to available participants with no loops. To access all participants, both matched and unmatched, click on the ‘X’ beside the filter at the top of the screen - “Active Loops: No Loops". We would recommended that you leave the availability filter on so that you do not match a participant that is unavailable.

  3. To start matching, click on a participant, either from the list or by searching for their name. Their full profile will appear and, to create a short list of suitable matches, click on the areas of their profile that you wish to match them on.

  4. You will see these filters appear at the top of the screen. All potential matches who meet the criteria you have filtered by will remain in the list.

  5. You can select any participant to view their profiles side by side. All the information highlighted in red is what they have in common.

  6. Once you have decided on the loop, select create or save a draftManual Matching

New Match Email Notification

When you create a new Loop for two participants, they will be sent an email notifying them that they have been matched and introducing them to their partner. You can set the default email subject and message content in your Program settings.

Want participants to Self Match?

To allow participants to browse other mentees/mentors and initiate their own loops, you can consider enabling the Self Matching feature on your program.
