Connect Zoom to Mentorloop to start and join video meetings directly from your 1:1 loop. Your Program Coordinator can see that meetings are happening, but cannot access recordings, transcripts, or any other Zoom data.
How do I connect my Zoom account to Mentorloop?
Log into Mentorloop, go to Account Settings > Integrations, and click Link my Zoom account. Sign into Zoom and confirm that Mentorloop has permission to access your account. Your Zoom account is then linked and ready to use from your loop.
- Log into Mentorloop and navigate to your dashboard.
- Go to Account Settings > Integrations.
- Click Link my Zoom account.
- Sign into your Zoom account and confirm permissions.
Don't see the option to link Zoom?
If the Zoom integration option isn't visible, it hasn't been enabled for your programme. Reach out to your Program Coordinator.
How do I start a Zoom meeting from Mentorloop?
From within your 1:1 loop, click the Zoom icon at the top of the page and confirm you'd like to launch a meeting. The meeting link appears in the loop so both you and your mentor or mentee can join directly without leaving Mentorloop.
If my mentor or mentee invites me to a Zoom meeting, how will I know?
You'll be notified within Mentorloop and by email. The meeting invite will appear in your 1:1 loop, where you can join it directly. Both the Zoom link and any meeting notes are visible in the loop alongside the invite.
How do I end my Zoom meetings?
Either click End meeting from within your loop, or Leave meeting from directly within Zoom. Both options close the meeting for your session.
Do I need a Zoom account to set up a Zoom meeting in Mentorloop?
Yes. A Zoom account is required to create meetings and send invitations to your mentor or mentee. Free Zoom accounts support up to 100 participants, with meeting time limited to 40 minutes. Learn how to create a free Zoom account here.
Does my mentor or mentee also need a Zoom account?
No. If you have a Zoom account and create the meeting, the other person can join as a participant without needing their own Zoom account. Only the person setting up the call needs to be signed in to Zoom.
Is my Zoom information visible to anyone else?
Your Program Coordinator can see that meetings have been scheduled in Mentorloop, but cannot access recordings, transcripts, or any other data from your Zoom account. Your meeting content remains private to the participants involved.
How do I disconnect my Zoom account from Mentorloop?
You can revoke Mentorloop's access to your Zoom account at any time. Log into your Zoom account, go to your connected app settings, and remove Mentorloop from the list of authorised apps.
Are my Zoom meetings secure?
Yes. Mentorloop creates all Zoom meetings with a secure password enabled by default, so only participants with the meeting link can join. Zoom is GDPR compliant and meetings are protected by end-to-end encryption. More information is available on Zoom's security page.
Prefer to use a different platform?
If privacy is a concern or you'd prefer another tool, Mentorloop also integrates natively with Microsoft Teams. You can also log meetings and attach notes manually from within your loop using any external platform. We recommend not sharing your Zoom meeting ID with anyone you don't trust.
What do I do if Zoom requires pre-approval?
If you receive a pre-approval prompt, the administrator of your organisation's Zoom account needs to approve the Mentorloop integration before you can proceed. Contact your Zoom account owner or IT administrator to complete this step.
Can I use the AI meeting Notetaker with Zoom?
Yes. If your programme has AI features enabled and you have calendar integration connected, an AI Notetaker can join your Zoom meetings automatically. You'll receive a notification before it joins, and you can remove it from any individual meeting if you'd prefer it not to attend.
Prerequisites for the AI Notetaker
To use the AI Notetaker with Zoom, you need all three of the following in place:
- Calendar integration connected via Account Settings > Integrations
- Your Zoom account linked to Mentorloop
- AI features enabled for your programme, this is configured by your Program Coordinator
AI-generated meeting notes appear in your loop with a ✨ icon. You can detach the Notetaker from any scheduled meeting if you'd prefer not to use it for that session.
What if I use a different video conferencing platform?
Mentorloop also integrates natively with Microsoft Teams. If you use another platform, you can still log meetings and add notes manually from within your loop. To discuss other integration possibilities, get in touch at info@mentorloop.com.
