This article will provide instructions and advice on how to Find a Match using the Self Match feature.
If you do not have 'Find a Match' on your left-hand side navigation, reach out to your Program Coordinator to see if this is available for your program. Otherwise, you will be assigned a match by your Program Coordinator.
Search for a Mentor or Mentee

Click on the Find a Match page on the left navigation.

You can filter your search by expertise, department, goals and more.

Select the profile you wish to view and click 'Connect'.
There are 4 key points to remember when reaching out:

Introduce yourself with a brief summary.
- Let them know why you’ve chosen them for a match. Aim to make your reasons relatable to your mentor's experiences.

Outline what you’re hoping to achieve in the mentoring relationship.

Keep it short and snappy.
Let’s look at a quick example. Natalie, (a mentee) wants to connect with Claire (a mentor):
Match Requests
- Select the Matching Requests page
- Search for the request you would like to decline and include your reasoning
- You have the option to add a message
- Confirm, this will update the requester and inform them of the request outcome
Viewing your match's profile
- To see the full biography of your mentoring match, first ensure you're within the relevant mentoring Loop
- You can then simply click their name or avatar, which will display their profile in the sidebar
