Mentorloop Notes lets you create, share, and link written notes with your mentoring partner directly inside your 1:1 Loop. Notes are shared with your match by default, but you can make any note private with a single toggle.

Notes are edited only by their creator

You can share a note with your match so they can read it, but only the person who created the note can edit it.

How do I create a Note from my dashboard?

Your active 1:1 Loops appear on your dashboard. Select the three-dot menu () on any Loop card to create a new note or view previous notes you have shared with your match.

How do I create a Note inside my 1:1 Loop?

1. Navigate to your 1:1 Loop page and select the Notes section, or choose the Notes tab at the top of your Loop.

2. You can also create a note using the chat icon in the top right corner of your Loop.

What happens to Notes when I schedule my first meeting?

When you schedule your first meeting, Mentorloop pre-fills the note field with a First Meeting agenda, a suggested structure to help you and your match hit the ground running. The note is shared by default, so your match can read it too.

The agenda covers four areas:

  1. Set the rules of engagement — meeting frequency, communication preferences, and confidentiality
  2. Introduce yourself — your story, background, and what brought you here
  3. Share your goals — why mentoring, why now, and what you want to achieve
  4. Wrap up & next steps — agree actions and when you'll meet again

You can edit or clear the content before saving. If you leave the note field blank, no note is created.

This replaced the old meeting description

The First Meeting agenda used to appear in the meeting description field. It now appears as a pre-filled note in the scheduling form, making it easier to edit, share with your match, and refer back to after your session.

How do I make a Note private?

Notes are shared with your match by default. To keep a note to yourself, simply disable the share toggle when creating or editing the note.

1. If you have an existing meeting scheduled with your mentoring partner, select + Add note on the meeting card in your Loop to create and link a note. Any notes already linked to that meeting will appear on the card too.

2. You can also create a new meeting and link a note at the same time using Mentorloop's meeting templates.

Note link in your calendar invite

When you link a shared note to a meeting, a link to that note appears in the calendar invite description, so both you and your match can access it directly from your calendar.

How do Notes work with AI-generated meeting agendas?

When you use Mentorloop's AI meeting agenda feature, your shared notes are automatically included as context. This helps the AI generate a more relevant and personalised agenda based on what you and your match have already discussed.

Only shared notes are used

Private notes are never passed to the AI. Only notes you have shared with your match are included when generating a meeting agenda.
