Mentorloop has three types of badges: Kudos badges (awarded by your mentoring partner), Achievement badges (earned automatically as you hit milestones), and Program Badges (created and awarded by your Program Coordinator to recognise program-specific achievements). All your badges live in one place, the Kudos page.

🏆 Program Badges — awarded by your Program Coordinator

Your Program Coordinator may create custom Program Badges that reflect your organisation's values, competency frameworks, or program milestones. If your program uses them, you'll see them alongside your Kudos and Achievement badges on your Kudos page, and you can share them to LinkedIn too. Learn more about Program Badges.

What types of badges are there?

There are three types of badges in Mentorloop:

Achievement badges recognise your progress throughout your mentoring journey. You'll automatically earn them as you hit important milestones, completing meetings, staying consistently engaged, or receiving great feedback from your mentoring partner. These badges celebrate your commitment and give you something tangible to share on LinkedIn.

Kudos badges let you recognise your mentoring partner's contributions in the moment. Award a badge when your partner gives you valuable advice, listens thoughtfully, or helps open doors in your career. You can include an optional personalised message with your kudos. These badges make the often invisible impact of mentoring visible, showing your partner their efforts are valued and appreciated. You can also share Kudos you receive on LinkedIn.

Program Badges are created by your Program Coordinator to reflect achievements that matter to your specific program, such as company values, internal competency frameworks, or key program milestones. Your coordinator can award them to you directly. They appear on your Kudos page alongside your other badges and can be shared to LinkedIn. Not all programs use Program Badges, this is an Enterprise feature your coordinator sets up.

What badges can I get, or give?

Kudos badges are merit-based and can be awarded multiple times. Each new award of the same Kudos badge updates the total displayed on the badge icon. You earn these by having meaningful mentoring partnerships, and reward your partner when you recognise these behaviours.

Kudos badge types

Achievement badges are awarded by the Mentorloop platform, they are progress-based, per loop.

Achievement badge types

Program Badges are created and awarded by your Program Coordinator. You cannot award them yourself, your coordinator awards them to you when you meet program-specific criteria. Not every program will have Program Badges configured.

What does each badge mean?

When you click on a badge, you'll see a description and the progression criteria (where relevant). Here's a breakdown:

Kudos badges

  • Trust: For building safe, trusted, empathetic relationships.
  • Networking: For connecting people, resources, and opportunities.
  • Expertise: For sharing knowledge with impact.
  • Commitment: For consistently showing up and following through.
  • Creativity: For sparking new ideas and perspectives.

Achievement badges

  • Excellence Levels: Bronze = 3 × 5/5 Mentoring Quality Score, Silver = 6 × 5/5 MQS, Gold = 9 × 5/5 MQS
  • Momentum Levels: Bronze = 5 meetings, Silver = 10 meetings, Gold = 15 meetings
  • Mentorloop Certified: For completing the Mentorloop Participant Course quiz in Help Hub
  • Growing Together: After completing your first meeting and post-meeting survey
  • Mentorloop Champion: For completing all milestones

Program Badges

Program Badges are unique to your program, their name, icon, and criteria are defined by your Program Coordinator. Click on a Program Badge to see its description. Your coordinator may base these on your organisation's values, internal competency frameworks, or program-specific milestones.

How do I give Kudos?

  1. Navigate to Kudos, and select Give Kudos.

  1. Select who you would like to recognise, personalise your note, and send!

When you submit a 4 or 5 star post-meeting or MQS survey, you'll also have the opportunity to award a Kudos badge to your mentoring partner.

How do I know I've received a Kudos, Achievement, or Program Badge?

On the Kudos page, badges that are greyed out haven't been earned yet. You'll be notified via email, in-app notifications, and highlights when you are awarded a badge, whether by the Mentorloop platform, your mentoring partner, or your Program Coordinator.

Where and when will I see my badges in Mentorloop?

You can find all your badges, Kudos, Achievement, and Program Badges, on the Kudos page via the main left-hand menu.

You can see a summary of other participants' badges when viewing their profiles via Find A Match (only self-match programs have this view).

Only you and your Program Coordinators can see the written Kudos feedback about you. You cannot see Kudos written feedback about other participants.

You can expect to start receiving Kudos badges after a few productive meetings with your mentoring partner. Achievement badges are merit-based from the platform, see the criteria above. Program Badges, if your program uses them, are awarded by your Program Coordinator.

How can I share my badges externally?

You can share your Kudos, Achievement, and Program Badges to LinkedIn. You'll need to connect your LinkedIn account first, do this via Integrations in your Account Settings.
