Mentorloop uses Cronofy to power its calendar integration, allowing you and your mentoring partner to see each other's availability and schedule meetings without leaving the platform. This article explains what Cronofy is, how to connect your calendar, what data is shared, and how to disconnect.
What is Cronofy and why does Mentorloop use it?
Cronofy is a third-party calendar connectivity service. Mentorloop uses it to connect your calendar to the platform so that when you and your mentoring partner are scheduling a meeting, you can each see the other's availability in real time, without needing to share calendars manually or go back and forth over email.
Connecting your calendar is entirely optional. If neither you nor your partner connects a calendar, you can still schedule meetings in Mentorloop, you just won't see live availability when choosing a time.
Supported calendars
Google, iCloud, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and Outlook.com are all supported. If you use a work Microsoft account, try Office 365 or Exchange. If you use a personal Microsoft account, use Outlook.com.
How do I connect my calendar to Mentorloop?
- Log in to Mentorloop and click your name or profile picture in the top right.
- Select Account settings, then go to Integrations.
- Under Calendars, select the calendar provider you'd like to connect.
- Approve the Cronofy connection when prompted.
- Once connected, head to your loop to schedule a meeting, your partner's available times will be highlighted in green.
Organisation approval may be required
Some organisations require an IT administrator to approve the Cronofy calendar integration before participants can connect. If you see an approval prompt or can't complete the connection, ask your IT team to review the Cronofy approval guide.
What does connecting my calendar enable?
Once your calendar is connected, Mentorloop (via Cronofy) can:
- Show your availability to your mentoring partner when scheduling meetings, so you can find a time without back-and-forth
- Create calendar events automatically when a meeting is scheduled in Mentorloop
- Sync updates if a meeting is rescheduled or cancelled
✦ AI Notetaker also requires calendar integration
If your programme has AI features enabled, connecting your calendar also unlocks the AI Meeting Notetaker, which automatically generates a meeting summary and saves it as a Loop note after each session. Learn more about AI meeting features →
What data does Cronofy access?
When you connect your calendar, Cronofy receives your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture. Mentorloop uses Cronofy via an API to schedule and update meetings, Cronofy connects to your calendar using OAuth 2.0, which means Mentorloop never sees your calendar password.
When you connect your calendar, you and your data are subject to both Mentorloop's privacy policy and Cronofy's privacy policy. Cronofy operates to ISO 27001 standard and is GDPR compliant. You can review Cronofy's full privacy information before connecting.
For full details on what Mentorloop does with your calendar data, see Privacy for participants using calendar integrations.
How do I disconnect my calendar?
You can remove calendar access at any time. Go to Account settings → Integrations and unlink your calendar. This immediately revokes Cronofy's access. Meetings already scheduled in Mentorloop will remain, but future scheduling won't show availability and calendar events won't be created automatically.
