In Mentorloop, a mentoring match is called a "Loop". It's the private home for everything you and your mentoring partner do together, in one place.

Loops can be individual or group-based. You can learn more about Group Loops here, or read on for everything you need to know about 1:1 Loops.

What is a 1:1 Loop?

A 1:1 Loop is your private shared space with a single mentoring partner. Once you're matched, you can message each other, record meeting notes, share files, schedule meetings and set shared goals, all in one place. Over time, it becomes a journal of your mentoring relationship.

From your 1:1 Loop, you can:

The beauty of your Loop is that, over time, it becomes an online journal that gives you an overview of your mentoring experience to date.

Mentorloop supports multiple connections, so if you have more than one match, each has its own separate 1:1 Loop, making it easier to manage your conversations. You also have a 1:1 Loop with your Program Coordinator whenever you need to reach out.

How do I edit or delete a message?

Your Loop is an audit trail of your mentoring relationship, so you can edit your messages for up to 15 minutes after they're sent. That's enough to fix a typo or remove a message you sent by mistake. Simply click your message to see the edit and delete controls.

Can I reply straight from my email notifications?

Yes. When you receive an email notification about activity in your 1:1 Loop, you can reply directly from that email, no need to log in each time. Your reply is captured in your Loop, keeping everything in one place and making it easy to stay connected.

A few examples of email notifications you can reply to directly from your inbox:

  • A new message from your mentor or mentee
  • A new meeting scheduled with your mentor or mentee
  • Comments on shared goals or meeting notes
  • A message from your Program Coordinator
  • File shares or follow-ups after a scheduled meeting

This makes it easy to stay in the loop and keep the conversation flowing, wherever you are.
